Meta Puzzle

You’ve reached the end. The gigantic cavernous black hole is about to envelop your van. This is the end. You know it. Your little Aerostar isn’t built for gravitational forces of this magnitude. The gaping mouth of the black hole is too large. It’s sucking everything in. You’ll soon be crushed to nothing.

But, just then, your center console flashes to life, displaying a series of blinking lights. It must have an idea! But, what is it trying to communicate? What could you possibly do to get yourself out of this tight spot and prevent being swallowed up by this black hole?

  • A meta puzzle utilizes the answers of previous puzzles. For this meta, you'll need all 31 answers from my EnigMarch puzzles this year. If you didn't keep track of those or would just like a list of the answers, click here for a list.

WARNING: Clicking there will give you a complete list of all answers, which could spoil other puzzles that you haven't completed yet. If you just want hints on this puzzle without getting a full list of answers, none of the future hints will spoil puzzle answers.

  • You'll need to assign each puzzle answer to one of the 31 displays. The top row has a number of rectangles that are lit up in either gray or gold. Those correspond to the length of each answer. Of all my puzzles, there is only one answer that has 15 letters in it. That answer will go in the left column, third from the bottom.

  • The 5 lights at the bottom of each display are each lit up in a different pattern. Figuring out why those lights are lighting up and how they correspond to the various answers will allow you to assign each answer to a unique display. These glowing lights also correspond to the letters highlighted in gold at the top of each display.

  • Each light at the bottom of the display lights up if the answer contains a specific letter. For example, the first light will light up if the word it's associated with contains the letter S.

  • The lights at the bottom of the display light up if the word contains the letter S, P, A, C, or E, respectively. Of the 31 answers, there is a unique subset of those letters in each answer, and each of these letters is used only once.

  • Read the letters pointed to by the blue arrow, starting with the entire left column, and reading from top to bottom.
