Day 19 - Odd
You’ve managed to fix your ship yet again, and you’re on your way. Your sensors are picking up activity on a nearby asteroid, so you punch in the coordinates and let the auto-pilot do its thing.
When you arrive you find a completely automated facility extracting minerals from the asteroid and processing them into ore. You examine the process more closely. What are the machines extracting?
-
The input clues all clue to a 9-letter word, and the output clues all clue to a 5-letter word. You'll need to find a way to match these two lists together. Today's EnigMarch prompt may be a clue.
-
The input words each contain one of the output words, if you only consider the odd letter of the input word. For instance, CHAMPIONS contains the word CAPOS if you read every other letter. Once you've matched the words up, use the number provided with the output clue to index into the input word to get a letter.
Index: Count that number of letters into the word. For example, indexing 5 into PUZZLE returns an L.
